The Magic of Santa

December 23, 2011
For the last couple of years the sight of Santa at the mall has not been pleasant for Charlotte. The first year, she was screaming trying to get out of his lap. I'll have to scan that one to the computer, but take my word on it, she wasn't happy.

The second year, she clearly remembered the experience and clung to Mommy's neck so Mommy had to be in the picture.

This year we weren't expecting anything less, in fact we thought it could be even worse. The line was long when we got there so I thought I would entice her by telling her if she sat with Santa, she would get a piece of candy. Some parents call that bribing...I call it a lesson in cause and effect. However, I was about to get a lesson in negotiating, as my child then demanded candy and a cookie. Fine, but I needed a big ole happy face when she was sitting with Santa. When it was our turn, I thought for sure our deal would go out the window and she would cling to one of our necks. Instead, this child with her face full of anticipation, ran with arms wide open to Santa and gave him a giant hug. She was so smitten with him...Audrey could care less. Next year, I'm sure she'll be the one screaming in the picture.

3 Months Old

December 20 2011
Charlotte decided that her baby needed a photo op and a sticker on her chest as well. Then she posed the two and demanded I take a picture of her baby. And yes, Charlotte's baby is naked...apparently we are raising an nudist.

Getting Our Christmas Tree

December 9, 2011
We were really looking forward to our annual family tradition of going to the local Christmas tree farm and cutting down our perfect tree. We've gone to the same place each year we've been here, but unfortunately our plans quickly changed when we saw this...
Hmmm...okay guess we'll have to search on our iphones and find another local tree farm. Surely there are some around here. Let's just check out the little ones and see if they're up for a bit of a drive...
Okay, Audrey is up and ready to go...that could be good or bad. Let's see about the big one...
Fast asleep...clearly not up for chopping down trees. Oh boy that's going to leave a mark!
So we changed our plans and headed to this place to get our tree. Hopefully this doesn't become a new tradition for us.
But once Charlotte woke up it was all fun! After a little dancing to some Christmas tunes, it was time to trim the tree!
Great job putting all the ornaments on the tree, Charlotte!!
